EINFiling.
Your company's US federal tax ID. You need it before you can open a bank account, verify Stripe or PayPal, hire, or file a tax return.
Without an EIN, your US company exists on paper but can't operate. We file it correctly the first time, because a rejected application costs you weeks.
The Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a nine-digit number the IRS assigns to identify your business for tax purposes. Despite the name, you need one even if you never hire employees.
Founders with a US Social Security Number can usually get an EIN online in minutes. Non-resident founders without an SSN or ITIN cannot use the IRS online system. They have to submit Form SS-4 by fax or mail, and that is where most errors and delays happen.
We prepare your SS-4 accurately, matching every detail to your formation documents, choose the correct entity classification, and track the application through to the IRS confirmation letter.

- Keep the IRS confirmation letter: banks will ask for it
Questions,
answered.
Do I need an SSN or ITIN to get an EIN?
No. Non-resident founders can get an EIN without an SSN or ITIN. The application simply has to be filed by fax or mail rather than online.
How long does it take?
For non-residents, the IRS typically issues an EIN within 1–3 weeks of receiving a complete application. Processing times vary with IRS workload.
Is an EIN the same as an ITIN?
No. An EIN identifies your business. An ITIN is an individual taxpayer number for a person who isn't eligible for an SSN. Most founders only need the EIN to operate their company.
I lost my EIN confirmation letter. What now?
The IRS can issue a 147C verification letter. We can help you request it.
Can I get an EIN before forming my company?
No. The company must exist first, because the EIN is issued to the legal entity.
